Candidate for City Council

Issue Positions
- Go to Mr. Way’s Background Information

Why You?:

  • I am a thoughtful, conservative Republican who is a problem solver, not a problem creator.
  • I look for no-nonsense solutions recognizing and respecting the rights and opinions of all our citizens, not just those who share my conservative philosophy
  • I have a wealth of relevant business experience and prior public service
  • I put in the homework to understand an issue before deciding.
  • I support traditional family values

    • Progressive zoning
    • Incentives for upgrading/expanding
  • Discourage illegal aliens with legal actions

    • No blanket amnesty; deport criminals
    • No driver’s licenses or business licenses or in-state tuition
    • Deny most legally discretionary services
  • Maintain High Quality City Services
    • First rate education in modern, permanent facilities
    • Reliable, economic utilities
    • Responsive officials
  • Control taxes and spending
    • No new local taxes
    • Tax growth only for inflation & citizen-supported initiatives
    • Stimulate efficiency in city government
  • Active role in transportation improvements
    • Regional taxes for regional programs
    • Fair share of projects for Manassas
    • Resurrect a transportation program to replace the NVTA plan

Anything additional:
I am not a “one issue” candidate. The city has a variety of challenges and opportunities and needs broad-based, well rounded Council members who can deal productively with the range of situations which come to Council.
